As President of NEACRAO I want to welcome our members into a New Year. At each of NEACRAO’s member schools are wonderful people I have met through this organization and who I can now call my colleagues. I hope that all of you have had the same positive experience as I have. If you have not had this experience, I would love to hear from you on how we on the Executive Council can help to improve the way we serve you and our members.
During the New Year many make New Year’s resolutions. If you are one of the many making a New Year’s resolution I charge you to get involved with NEACRAO and transform your experience from being a passive one to being an active member. We have something for everyone and every interest. To offer your time, please complete a Committee Interest form and we will contact you with how we can move forward.
We are all busy people rushing through life one day to the next, sleeping when we can. Yes there is a small time commitment by getting involved with NEACRAO but there is also so much more. You will meet some amazing people and you will have the chance to not only make our organization better but the field of higher education better too. If you are new to the field and you want to know where to get started, join NEACRAO and network. If you have ever wished that we would cover a topic that we have yet to cover, then help us find a session presenter or Keynote speaker.
By getting involved in our organization you are no longer sitting on the side lines. You will become an active partner whose voice is heard and someone who is trying to help leave their make in the world of higher education. Maybe by getting involved, the future president’s message will be from you. I look forward to meeting and collaborating with all members past, present, and future in the New Year and beyond.
On January 6, members met with the Executive Council to begin planning for this year’s programming, including our Summer Workshop, Annual Conference, and Reverse College Day. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this crucial meeting!
Planning Help Needed
As an all-volunteer organization, NEACRAO depends on members input and energies to plan and execute our programming. We can’t do it without you!
Particular needs at this time are for Reverse College Day co-Chairs (2) and assistance with planning presentations for this year’s conference. To give your time, whatever that may be, please fill out a Committee Interest form.
Annual Conference and Reverse College Day 2016
Thank you for making 2016’s Annual Conference and Reverse College Day such a success! We had over three hundred registrants between both events and a whole lot of fun dancing at NEACRAO After Dark. With all the connections we made this year, we’re looking to do it all again in Portland, ME this November!
Welcoming a New Board Member
Jen Ruggiero, Assistant Registrar at Southern Connecticut State University was appointed by the Board in November to serve as Vice President of Professional Development. Congratulations, Jen!
