Session A - Admissions & High School Counselor Roundtable
Location: Stannard
Join your colleagues to network and explore admissions from a holistic enrollment management perspective. Identify opportunities for collaboration across departments and divisions, share current challenges and brainstorm potential solutions. As recruitment and retention has become part of everyone’s job, please join us even if you are not currently in an Admissions role. We look forward to a lively discussion!
Session B - Understanding VA Benefits for Military Dependents
Location: Westbrook A
Presentation will cover Post 911 GI Bill (Ch 33) for dependent children and the Dependence Education Assistance (DEA – Ch 35) benefits, which is only for dependents. The students can actually use Ch 35 (and receive payment) during their senior year of high school. It ends up being $1488 per month for their entire senior year. Such a nice way to send them off to college with some extra money! Most high schools are not aware of this. Presentation will also cover how the benefits work on the college end so they can share that information with students.
Presenter: Michaela Black, VetSuccess on Campus Coordinator, Department of Veteran Affairs
